Any abalone left over from Chinese New Year? Here is a very simple and tasty dish you can make with the abalone.

First, you slice the abalone into thin slices. Then, you would boil some water and soak the bee hoon in it for just a minute or so.

The prepared bee hoon should be partially cooked and not too soft.

Next, you fry the abalone slices with garlic and oyster sauce. Fry till the mixture is nice and fragrant.

Don’t waste a good ingredient for soup. Empty the liquid from the can into the pot. Bring to a boil, then thicken with cornstarch and add some hua diao wine to add fragrance.

I’d like to line the bottom of my bowl with lettuce and then place the bee hoon on top.

The final step is of course to pour in the soup/gravy.

Tastes superb. You must try it.
