Beef Noodles

This is the beef noodle at Blk 210 Hougang Street 21. It comes with the usual chilli sauce and pickled shallots. They have been featured in the media with rave reviews. However, upon closer inspection, you’ll notice that there are differences between this beef noodle and the “normal” type. The “normal” type of beef noodles (dry) in Singapore looks something like this:

Famous Beef Noodle- Best in Singapore

The gravy is much darker. Take a closer look at the Hougang beef noodles.

You’re almost able to see through it. To be honest, the beef here is really tender and definitely not overcooked. The gravy, however, tastes a little too starchy and lacking in “substance”. Everything goes quite well with pickled shallots. Not fantastic but it’s a lot cheaper than Hock Lam Beef Noodles over at Upper Serangoon which is also not fantastic.
